Default Great Thread

This thread is killer. Soooo many ideas, but so little time. But now I have a list of winter projects... Thanks to everyone who shared their DIY mods.

Default lost my intake cover so i made a new one

riding down the road i hit another bird (thought it was the third in 2 weeks) wasnt till i pulled into my yard and watched my air filter rolling away from me that i realized it was not in fact a bird i hit.

went looking for material to make a new cover and saw a paint can lid... a small hole, nut and washer and tada! i had an original intake cover :-) (wish i had a picture of it).

then came the saw blade... mentioned it was the runner up to the paint can lid and next thing i know one friend is rooting through his garage for a blade and another one is grabbing the spray paint :-) guess they really liked the idea. ended up sanding that paint off and painting it to match the sissybar i made a while ago.

looks real awesome.
does your knee get close to the teeth?
sometimes my knee hits the a/c on my fatboy(stock football)
dont wanna rip my leg open if i hit a big bump.

thanks for the compliments

it is a pretty low profile filter i have, my leg can touch it but im not really on the teeth.
only one pair of jeans catches the teeth but they are kinda baggy/loose and already had a small hole right there... all my other pants dont catch at all.

i have no issues with this riding the bike (even on bumpy roads ) but make no mistake if i go down that blade will not be my friend

this blade didnt have carbide teeth and was already dull from use, the wire cup on my grinder helped to round the edges a bit
