I have a '99 Fatboy that won't go into neutral when running...&nbsp\\; However as soon as I turn off the engine it goes right in.&nbsp\\; Any suggestions???????&nbsp\\; Really sucks around town!!!!

Had the same exact problem on my '07. Put 75W140 in the tranny, and now I find neutral spot on.

Check your primary and transmission fluid levels.

Before you bother with changing oil, check the clutch adjustment.
If its a little loose it will drag and make getting into neutral very difficult.

All squared away now...Thanks for all the info, I really appreciate it!&nbsp\\; I checked my fluid levels and all were good.&nbsp\\; I adjusted the clutch cable and BAM problem fixed!!!&nbsp\\; I should have thought about it but I guess I can chalk this one up to being a rookie.&nbsp\\; Thanks again!

Also check the primary chain tension.

Something else that might help more. When Harley put your transmission with the balanced Twin Cam they found that the tranny was very difficult to shift so they changed the tranny in the TCs. When your at a stop light try revving the motor a bit when you look for neutral. It turns out that the vibes of the EVO motor help the tranny shift. Really helped with my 99 Heritage. Loved that EVO.
