Does anyone know what the fine is for a non DOT helmet? Got pulled over on PCH on my way south to laguna, Got a ticket and a lecture for a non DOT helmet, sweated me on my bars. The motorcycle cop actually had the nerve to call headquarters to check on signal laws to see if smoked lenses were illegal. BE CAREFUL in the beach cities, and if you plan on ridin dirty be prepared to get hassled. Next time ill ride north.
Thanks for the warning. I'll keep that in mind if I go south towards Laguna. \\;

BTW, nice bike! \\; Who did your handlebar and wires? \\; That is super-clean!
im not a 100%, i believe i read in easyriders that it is now a fix-it ticket. look on your ticket to see if is a correctable offence. i think there was a law suit last year that changed the laws in california
This is my very first post here, but I've lurked around here for over a year-but I had to comment on this post. \\; I'm sure that the fine varies from state to state, but I can tell you that in TN, it's around $170 for wearing a non DOT, believe it or not!! \\; My buddies and I were on the way home from Deals Gap, and got pulled over for an "equipment check" by a rookie THP. \\; After a lot of phone calls when I got home, I was able to get out of it, but my buddies had to pony up. \\; The kicker is that earlier in the day, we'd stopped at Hooters in Knoxville, and had our pictures taken w/ 2 veteran THP that put our helmets on for the picture!! \\; By the way, the fine in Missouri for wearing NO HELMET is $25....
I got one a little over a year ago on the way to Big Bear.It was written as a fix it ticket.I went to the CHP office with a DOT helmet,got it signed off and payed a $10 fine
