I never liked the way my Heritage handled with the windshield on and i don't like to ride without one so i put a 99 flhtuc batwing fairing on and it handles so much better and the MPG went up almost 2 on the hwy. It also looks cool ( i think ) and it cuts down the wind on my chest and arms. I made it with the stock brkt's so i can take it off and install the original windshield.

I just adjusted my handle bars on mine made a huge difference. Only use the windshield when its cool or the bugs are bad. Your scooter is sharp lookin!

I like it too! Was not sure you could do it with the stock head light assembally? You have to change anything?

Were you able to use the inner fairing as well, or just the outside shell? Got any pics of the inside, where the brackets attach? Does look good!

I'll second this question. I have the 70's model batwing that never had an inner fairing. Would make the switch if the FLH series fairing and inner will work.

Thanks for the kind words, glad you guys like it. I had the inner also but did not want a raido so i made some mounts out of a plastic spliting wedge and drilled them and installed 1/4 20 heli coil's into them and then i got three tubes of Lords T120 smc two part resin and glued them onto the inside of the batwing. After my first test ride i found the windshield vibrated so i made a inner fairing out of three layers of fiberglass and since that will not stick to the ABS fairing i spread a coat of Lords T120 on the inner fairing i had made and clamped it in place for a few hours and then smothed the edges with more T 120 and then had my buddy spray bed liner on the inside. I then test drove it again and it was very stable so i gave it to my buddy and he did the air brush art and painting. It took some time and about 300 dollars of material but i think it was worth the effort. It helps that i was a body man for 35 years but i think any of you could do this if you take you time.
