go to the Dyno for softails thread (sticky) in this section at the top of each page, 1st post has thumbnails of my 07 stock, stage 1, then with 26h cams....
U can them see what it will do for you.
well, i just had my crossbones dyno'd last weekend.. just thought i would add that with V&H short shots, i am getting 73.2hp, and 83.4 ft-lbs of tq. - and i understand that the short shots are not the BEST pipe for HP..
but forget the power numbers, the bike runs ALLOT smoother, and has more power..
when i got it, in 6th gear at 70 mph, it barely had enough power to get out of its own way, now at 70 in 6th gear, i can accelerate like mad.. HUGE DIFFERENCE..
HOWEVER - i never had the HD download though, i started with a canned map in a PC V..
dyno is needed if you want perfection 95%. if you want 100% then get a thundermax and it will tune as you drive
One of the issues that scared me off regarding T-Max was if anything goes south (TPS gets dirty, MAP sensor goes bad, RPM signal gets dirty, either o2 sensors get out of calibration, exhaust developes an air leak...) It will tune your bike right into detonation with a lean mix, or wash the rings right out with a fat mix.
I prefer a good tuner with a properly calibrated dyno who tunes for the guys who build the monster motors.
At least if something goes horribly wrong I have a human that effed my bike up with the possibility of some recourse!!
my timing is fully adjustable with thundermax and there is built in protection if a sensor fails and it will run preset open loop
I had two motor builders tell me not to run the T-Max on any build above a stage 2 big bore cammed bike.
Scared me off with crazy stories....
That and the derned price!!
Our local tuner is a direct link guy. He tunes all the serious guys bikes so I went with him even though my build isnt all that "Serious". I'm running enough compression to have some detonation issues below 2500 RPM for sure and I'm on the verge of stepping into the unreliable crank twisting zone as we have to do so much more at this crazy high altitude to make power.
I hafta research that T-Max down the road if my dyno tuning guy stops giving me deals!!

You said that the Thundermax will tune as you ride. It will not adjust your timing via AutoTune. You can adjust it manually, but once it's set, it's set. I'm glad you're happy with your tuner, but there are many, many reasons why I wouldn't run one.
