yeah those darn noobs have a lot of nerve. Good thing an old experienced biker cleared that up....and posted ....
I have had my '05 Deuce since '06. I liked the fit for me. From the rear axle forward it has a smooth, clean look. The rear fender harelip/duckbill can be toned down by dropping the bike a couple inches. It can look less like a tractor pulling a back blade if the bracket is cut down with hacksaw to the same size as the license plate. A bunch of chrome on belt and taillight helps distract the eye too. It is my fourth Harley, I like it. That Heartland kit is tempting...
No need to bad mouth other models to make the Deuce better...different strokes. Of course I am just a noob.

That bike looks great dropped those 4 inches or so. Takes the ugliness out of the rear fender. I think I'll look into doing that. But how bad does the ride quality suffer?
Haters of the rear fender just need to put a nice rear wheel on and it improves it big time IMHO.. The rear wheel was the major problem with the deuce. Here's my 07. Remember 07's were lowered an inch from the factory compared to all other deuces and only deuce with the 96 ci. I think that one inch diff and a wheel set completely transformed my bike. Haters gonna hate on deuces though..
It's strange over time how things can grow on you. The Deuce rear fender does mellow a lot if it's lowered with a classy rear wheel. I never took to the studs all over the Heritage when it first came out or the Springer front end. The studs still don't set well with me but the Springer front end is starting to look better. Generally, anything Softail get's my attention but most have something that distracts me I guess that's why we mod the hell out of these things.
I just picked up a bone stock 03' Deuce with 1300miles. A freakin time capsule... So far I love it, but I bought it as a doner bike. Wait till you guys see what I do with this Deuce...
And for those hating on the rear fender? You should, it's ugly as fack! LOL...
But don't complain about many options to change it!! 2007+ fatboy rear fender... Fits like a glove! Even the ECU mounts are in the same spot!! Granite I just did a quick mock up because I am going to stretch mine, but looks like even the chrome strut covers will mount up with no fabrication needed!!
