Ok.....So here's my question....I am still running stock exhaust on my 06 Deluxe but have put on the Harley passenger floorboard kit; I am looking to put on Vance and Hines exhaust, so what do I need to do to get them to fit? Will they fit with the floorboards? Do I need to buy some sort of Harley bracket to get them to work? Can someone set me straight on what I need to do before I tackle this project? I need to get these stock exhaust off before they tell me I can't............Thanks to all, Jon
Well, obviously that SUX, since it cost me a pretty penny for the floorboard set up that matches perfectly to the bike. What is it exactly that doesn't work with the floorboard set up I have? Is it something that could be tweeked, rewelded etc to make the ones I have fit? What has to be done to the stock peg set up that comes on the bike to put on a set of V & H's?
Thanks, Jon
I believe if you read the V&H instructions for the pipes you are planning to install, once you get to the section that instructs you to âRemove the complete exhaust system and set aside. Assistance may be required. Followed by: Remove stock mounting bars and brackets.â and you take a close look at your bikes current setup you will understand.
Your new pipe position will be different from the stock positioning, the upper pipe will be closer to the bottom pipe making it lower and therefore it will block the current bracket positions.
Jon,
Maybe you could use your floorboards with the Heritage brackets? I am interested to see how you do, I want to put V&H on too with the Deluxe passenger floorboards.
