hi - Ive just taken delivery of a set of 18" Pschyo chubby apes from Hill Country customs.....together with the hand controls and pre-wired. It all turned up yesterday, looks great. I will take some before and after photos - and a few inbetween to share.
My question is .....who has undertaken this before and is there a kit to available to relocate the turn signals lower down - its for an '06 Fatboy....
There are kits...I think Ebay is where most have gotten them. Personally when I put my 18's on I ditched the front lights. I dont know if its law in you neck of the woods but I think they are a waste of time...
You can mount them on your fork tins on the lower bolt where the windshield mounts. A few people have done this a while back and it looks great. Don't even think about mounting them up on the bars.
I relocated the turn signals on my 2004 Fatboy about a month ago. I used a kit I purchased from Steel Stallion on Ebay. It's actually a really easy procedure and only took me a couple of hours. It would have been much quicker, but my soldering skills are only so so. If you don't want to solder, there's some butt splice connectors that come with the kit, along with shrink tubing, and all of the hardware you need to relocate the turn signals from the bars onto the forks. It comes with really good instructions too.
