Does anybody know the part number for the bolt inserts that are on the side of the softail frame to bolt the seat down? I have searched the web and called 2 Harley dealers, but they can't find a part number for them. I purchased a Heritage seat and want to use the spring loaded bolts that come with the seat. It will make it easy to get the seat off without having to use a wrench.
Hi Fatboy,
Just had the same run around with that part number, the HD P/N is 52720-00A nut seat retentction x2
they cost me about $25.00 over here in England its a big rip off trying to running a Hog over this side of the pond,
but I would not put my butt on any other bike.
It took me 4 days to get the right part number. Made a few calls, searched the web. Just glad I found the parts. I had the inserts in 3 days. Now I can change out all 3 of my seats in a matter of minutes. No tools needed. Ride safe.
Thanks. Is that a Diamond Back seat on your bike? I was going to get one for my Fatboy, but didn't know if it would hold up on long trips. I was told that the Heritage seat is good on the long haul , so thats why I went that direction. Also Nice Ride yougot there. I have seen a lot of nice bikes on this forum and get a lot of ideas for my own. Also plenty of folks that share thier knowledge for the good of others.
