wish i were that handy, i have a good friend that has a shop. He's been working on my bikes for 12 years. allows me to sit in and watch.
I think you are more handy than you lead us to believe!
Taking the wires out of plugs is a learning experience, I use a paper clip to do it now. As you do more things to your bike, it will put a big smile on your face when you say "I did that"!
There is so much info on this site that is so well explained that any level of experience can master most things.
i put the license plate bracket on after i painted it black, put the air cleaner cover on, put the headlight trim on, the signal bezels, tank bib, fender bib and helped put the pipes and micro tuner on, but thats it. took it to my friends shop for the bars and cables.
Blue ain't gonna happen for this boy, lovin' my Blackened Cayenne! Blue looks good though in a.....well, blue sorta way. And yeh Gommee, I got the link opened thanks.
I put those exact bags on my Fat for an 1100 mile trip. They were STUFFED full. Some wet roads and some downright RAIN, not a drop inside. I went with the easybracket setup from Great Bike Gear and am so glad I did. They lock on and lock off. Super easy and leave behind nice looking bolts, just a bit longer than regular, when the bags are off.
I over do things but I also applied duck tape on the inside of the bags where the mounts are to insure no moisture gets in.
Decided I cant live without some bags for the bike.. I went with a cheap option to see what I think of them before spending big money on hard bags that will need paint and exhaust replacement. Going to mount them up this weekend. I hate always riding with a backpack. Really I'm blown away with the quality of these bags for $250.
My previous post is to this post, lol. I goofed it up.
AND I just realized the bags in these pics are with the throwover option. It does come with the bags and you can do either.
