Kind of excited! Dropping the bike off to get its first mods done:
V&H 2 into 2, SE Heavy Breather, Race Tuner. When this is being done I will have the Transmission Cover and Primary Cover Powder Coated.
Can't wait to see how it looks!!!
This thread is awesome I have been reading for the past week and the information in here is outstanding and a huge help for this newbie.

Let us know how it effects your mileage and the fuel gauge. Close up before and after pics would be nice too.
You got it. I had been emailing Kevin @ DKCustoms about it, and even from what I've read online, you only lose about 1/4-1/3 of a gallon of fuel.. come to find out my bike has been running really really rich..like my spark plugs are black as night, which also explains why I average about 40-42mpg as it is. Luckily come to find out a friend of mine who owns a nearby bike shop does Dyno tuning and PCV mapping.. so I talked with him and he's gonna set me up with a new map and straighten the A/F ratio back out to about 14 or where ever it's supposed to be. I know I can do it myself on my laptop, but i'd rather have it done right, ya know? So with any luck, i'll still get the same range that I do now.. about 180-190 miles.
Yeah i took a few simple pictures already, one with the tank where it normally is, then one at the spot where I measured the 1.5" lift would be. It's so subtle, but looks really nice. If i were feeling really ambitious I would relocate my turn signals to the forks, so I could do the 2" kit..but i'm not that ambitious. I like my turn signals where they are.. also I already have the mounting hardware to the windshield on the forks, so it's already a bit crowded

Personally, I prefer the "clean" look of the forks so eventually I opted not to move my turn signals. I also thought about the "tree" signals, but then the signals would be very close together (legal?) and I wouldn't be able to use the fork lock. I also saw some "ring" indicators that could be mounted on the handlebars, but it looked like they would be behind the windshield if and when I used it. I still haven't made up my mind about the "mirror" signals since I sort of like the idea, but I don't really care for the mirrors themselves that I've seen since they pretty much have the same shape as stock at a much higher cost.
Awesome...welcome to the cool kids. Curious...are you getting the sissy bar just to lug around stuff? If so check out the motherwell solo rack. That's on my list. I still have the sissy bar for 2 up when needed.
Thanks for the advice - I'm getting the detachable low sissy bar, backrest and luggage rack more for longer trips - my better half and me do a lot of weekend and overnight trips.
I'm also looking into the new HD whiskers frame mount highway pegs vs. the Kuryakan one's. Anyone have any experience with these (these are the frame mounted, not the engine guard or floorboard one's)?
Just got an email from Sherry from Danny Gray concerning what they can do to modify the buttcrack to allow the 2 screws to be used....looks like there is a problem fitting one to the lo in the first place. She is refering to a pic I sent her with 2 fenders screws showing directly behind the seat.
Email;
This pics looks like our buttcrack solo for the 84-99 or 00-06 softail (not the wide tire 200mm softail like your 2011 fatboy lo
That seat is mounted to the bike with side mounted bolted to the frame
The fatboy lo does not allow that type of mount
How to mount the buttcrack solo for your fatboy lo would be the biggest challenge because theres also a module that sits on the front part of the fender

Thanks!
Do your wife a favor and get the wide touring pillion if you have some extra cash. The stock one just is not made for much comfort.

Let me know if I can assist you further
Damn and I was wanting a gel filled butt crack. That sound bad but the seat is what I am referring to. I had my stock seat done last year by Mean City cycles and it is very comfortable now. Perhaps I will just have it recovered in leather and have some stitching done . And for showing off and short trips I guess a Bare Bones might be in the future.
