Glad that worked out. The 510 S&S gear drive cams improve the bottom end, get rid of the chains and tensioners, and it is an easy install. They could have even left the stock pushrods in since the lift is minimal, but adds labor. This way, they cut your old pushrods out and saved time. I like adjustable pushrods anyway.
Enjoy your ride.
That's really odd! A friend of mine had a lot of work done to his Ultra, '95' " kit, cams etc and they couldn't get it running right either. Found the same thing. Leaky fuel lines inside the tank. Something to remember I guess.
why would anyone have a dealer do this kind of work is beyond me.
Howard--
What did you mean by this?
Having the dealer do it, as in installing the parts?
Are you suggesting that a person should do it themselves, or take it somewhere other than the dealer?
Not asking defensively--just curious as to what you meant, and why.
Well the cams weren't installed wrong nor was it a bad tune. The problem was the fuel line inside the tank had holes in it causing my bike to sputter and run like garbage. Now I can really tell a difference with the cam. Bike pulls so much harder.

This is a very common problem. It happened on my bike at about 12k miles. When the gas got below the level of the fuel line in the tank it would miss.
