Default Too hot to ride

Too hot to ride here in NC. Temps approaching 100 each day with umbearable humidity. Been getting in a few miles early (I'm retired) but doesn't take too long till the 'fun' is gone. At least I've been watching my oil temps and they haven't broken 240 yet, even in traffic. Oh well, better days will come. Have a trip planned up north in a few weeks. Looking forward to that.

What are the temps in Oklahoma? It must be the 'humaditity'.

Now it's in the 70s, lightning, thunder, and pouring down rain. I think the oil leak in the gulf has something to do with it.

Yeah. That's it. The oil leak is affecting the weather now. Pretty soon it's gonna be raining oil. What a mess that's gonna be!!!

there are some ways to offset the heat, but they all require that you be moving.

some of the new materials are really confortable with wickin away the perspiration

one of the water holding bandanas, or just a bandana with ice.

covering skin works better then leaving it exposed.

but stop and go, aint' much to help with that

Now that the summer heat has set in here in the Sonoran Desert, my rec rides are very early on Sat and Sun mornings. And I mean early! I leave the house at 5:00 AM and back by 8:00 or 9:00 AM. I still have the one or two days of commuting during the week but the morning is cool and the afternoon . . . well, I just beeline it home.
