I have spent the last hours scratching my head reading some forums looking at pics and then sitting in the garage starring at my 2009 fatboy that i just installed the pc-v tring to figure out how to place the ecm so that the connectors arent in a lot of stress, i tried to mount by the instructions but the connector on the ecm overlaps the other connector and with the seat installed there really isnt enough room with out putting the connection point at a bind i have tried upside down and side way and there just isnt asny room and I really dont want to muck up the actual connectors . well maybe alittle sleep will bring about new ideas thanks for any help
Here is mine on softail custom. I was able to do it according to the instruction, which was basically removing the ECM bracket, moving the ECM back a bit and reattach with velcro. Its tight but it fits.
I had the exact same issue.I got fed up and pushed them biotches in there and called it a day.No problems yet .But i felt like the one bundle of wires coming out of the connector had some stress that I really did not like.Might take the seat back off now and try again.Felt like I was taking too much time on a simple install.Wanted to put my AN Billet big sucker and samson true duals on.Like I said now that all done a might tinker with it.But I really dont see any other way I brain stormed for hours looking at those wires.
I actually turned my ECM sideways. I also had addition space takers
with the self tuning modules... (you can see them tucked under that mammoth coupler)
Its NOT an easy fit. Fat Boy riders got boned cuz there is no cutout and ECM tray
Heres a pic of my solution... (its a tight fit but it works)
thanks for the replies stil racking the cabasa i can cet them in and the seat on but the pcm connector overlaps the other two connectors in a way that the pcm body doesnt sit flat against the fender and I am worried about the pressure being put on the pcm connector
I went through this myself, here is the link to my thread. I decided to go with turning the ECM sideways it allowed for more room for the connectors. I have not had a problem since.
