Currently I have Dunlop's on my Heritage Softail: 130s on the front and rear. I'm trying to figure out which tire to buy as a replacement, to either stick with the Lops or try AVON or Metzeler Marathon ME880's. I've heard good things about all these these tires, but can't decide. Any opinions out there?
There have been tons of threads on this topic, a few of them very recent. Why don't you run a search on the site using any tire brand name as a keyword? You'll get more opinions than you can handle, I'm sure.
I've had both Dunlops and Metz's, both have been good. On this last change I went with Maxxis classics, with 130's on my softail. Heard they were decent with the research I did on the net. I like to try new things. Could turn out good or bad, point is do a little research see what looks good to you and your riding habits.
I got 15K out of the stock dunlops on an FXST..switched to avon venom X's because they were supposed to get better wet traction...didn't really get that from them and at only 8K, the rear was showing cord....NO I don't do burnouts...went back to a stock dunlop on the rear....left the venom x on the front, which is now approaching another 15k...
