I bought a 2011 Heritage Softail and am finishing up some mods on it.
I bought a studded passenger pad to replace the original, but can't figure out how to get the back leather decoration off the bar to remove the center screw.
You can peel it off, its held on with very thick automotive grade double stick tape.
I used a blow dryer to warm it up, and a sharpened wooden paint stick to pry it off. A hassle for sure, but at least you will be rid of that ridiculous thing.

Thanks for all the info. Used a hot air gun on it this morning and it peeled right off. Took the concho trim off and added a skull medallion.
Looks great, here's mine, but I have the detach kit on it now, so its almost never on the bike anyway.
Yours looks great too. The next step is to get the detach kit on mine also.
Next month I'm getting the trunk to match the bags, and I don't want to have to dismantle everything every time I change from the trunk to the sissy bar.
