NEED a stronger rear spring, NOT lower....ideas?

Ask them. They can make a stiffer shock that isn't, if you know what I mean.
In other words, stock ride height, not as much compression, and better ride.
It's all about setting the shocks up.
Also, this site says you can make them taller.

Note: On the 422's the factory setting is Zero preload.
I have the 442's set at 50% preload for solo riding, I'm 6'1" 265. It's a bit stiff but I like it.
If the wife is a light weight (under 140) I would go for the 422 with 50% to 75% preload as a good compromise for you.
I would also strongly suggest you get the Progressive Heavy Duty fork springs and put in heavier fork oil. Big improvement on the front end.
The air systems give you a lot more on the fly rear end adjustment, but a 3 to 4 times the cost. For me, I did not need to change height and preload on the fly so the 422's were a good choice.
i was told by progg tech line that there is a cookie i can install into a 442 to NOT have to go to 75% preload but rather 25% with the cookie for a much better ride and more weight capacity..
i think its gonnna be the 442's with the cookie....the la chopper springs just give me a weird vibe that they are gonna be rocks and my stock shocks will be horrible with those installed into them.
"thinking about just getting cookies for stock springs but i know thats half assed"
also BTW...the heavy fork oil and relatively light NT front end is a nice match up so far...problem is primarily rear.
