i had an appt to get my evil apes installed at the indy dealer but my cables never showed yet so i lost my chance, i might try it myself, what all will i need besides the obvious bars risers and bushings and cables, will i need a new clutch cover gasket? and does the tank really need to come off?
yes clutch cover gasket...cables wire extensions....and i would take the tank off its way easier, and the tank is so simple to take off... the hardest part is the wiring and thats not really hard just time consuming...oh and you need exhaust gaskets cuz you gotta take them off to get to the trans cover

I have the wire extensions and the exhhaust gaskets too, just waiting on cables and bushings, I really want to get this done in one day so I can ride
if your a new b at it, it will take a good long day . i say that cuz you dont want to rush it...i put evil apes on my buddies and it was a lil hard to get the wires to turn corners in the bars....to take the tank off is easy just buy fuel line (cheap)...i use 2 needle nose visegrips and pinch off gas line on each side then cut the hose in the middle then pull tank open one end into gas can nothing hits the floor...lol...

is it nessasary to cut the fuel line or is there another way, if i have to i will just dont want to drive an hr and a half to town to get some fuel line, i was thinking i could keep the switches and controls as is and cut the wires down further and solder the extensions on pull them through from the top to the bottom and then connect back to the harness, good idea?
Just cut it and upgrade to a new stainless steel braided crossover line from HD. I did it and it was worth the money. It is a quick detachable one. Very easy to take on and off.

i really dont want to cut it because i only have one week off a month and if i cut it and orser a new one i wont be able to ride this week at all and it will be a month before i can do it again, not the best work schedule.
i just did this mod....if you want some help via phone call me
six three zero, 361, four three nine zero
its easy and you don't really need half the stuff listed here. i did mine with stock gaskets everywhere and no fuel line...just remove clamp and replace with standard clamp. reuse gaskets, ....mine took me 4hrs.
