Default Finally getting them installed... And a question too!

Finally got my 21"x3.5" wheel. I am installing the front wheel, and I have a question. How much drag should be on the wheel, when I spin it? With the wheel in the air it doesn't spin much after letting go. If it were "rolling", I would say the wheel would continue to spin for about 6"-8" of travel. Is this normal? Should it spin all the way around? Thanks guys & gals!

It should spin. You could have a couple different things going on since you have a new wheel...like proper wheel spacers, brake drag, over torqued axle.

Kick the pads back or pull the caliper off and check it. Counting spins sounds a little crude. With no rotor drag, the wheel bearing should be effortless to turn. If its tight its a sure sign the inner spacer was too short for the bearing c-bores and the bearing are preloaded. They should not be and will not last like that.

did you use the spacer that was in the "chrome moon dish" on the factory wheel? I had the same problem til I looked at that chrome dish and lo and behold there was a spacer in it held in by a c-clip. removed it and place it on the new 21" and she spins good it does have slight brake drag but it turns at least one revolutiion. Hope this helps!

Are you saying you just removed the chrome dish? Or did you remove something else along with it? I pulled the dish off awhile back, but I just put the snap-ring back on, and reinstalled everything the way it was... minus the actual chrome dish.

just remove the chrome dish but reuse the spacer thats in the dish, if you look inside it has a spacer held in it by a c-clip/snap ring I removed the snap ring and took the spacer out of the chrome dish and placed it (the spacer) on the axle like it was when the dish was on it and it made the wheel spin better, it actually looks like it is part of the new 21" wheel.

Ya... that's what I did. You just removed the bowl from the spacer. Did that... and it still feels tight. Oh well, maybe something else is wrong. Gonna go out and pull the caliper, and see how well it spins with out the added drag of the brakes.
