I'm going to be buying a Silver 07 Fatboy this week and would like some purchasing advice. I live in So Cal and I know that dealer prices are going to be inflated. The best price that I've been quoted so far is $20,500 out the door. I'm going to be paying with cash (cashier's check). I've been doing the math and $20,000 seems a little more realistic to me. What out the door price should I shoot for? Also, if anyone has any tips or dealers they can recommend please let me know.

I had the experience of buying 2 HD's, one year apart, Feb 05 and Feb 06 here in So Cal.
After many calls and visits to most of our So Cal HD dealers, I am 99% sure you will not get a deal better than one from L.A. HD in Paramount or Westminster HD in OC.
Call Erik at LAHD. Tell him what you've been offered and see what he can do.
The price you got is about right. Don't forget the gap insurance and the accidental wheel and tire damage insurance as well, worth the money. I also got mine from L.A. Harley in South Gate on Paramount Blvd. No mark up on the price, no hassles no pressure. Even got a reasonable insurance through their referral.
I love my '07 FB in black. Would love to see it in Silver. Good luck.
By the time you add on shipping, CA emissions, color option, set-up and possibly an optional wheel choice that may or may not be on the bike and then add the taxes and title fees you are in the ballpark. But as others have said check LA HArley on Paramont. They are generally the low price leader.
I'm a cheapo and bought used... Saved a lot of money and no problems...Got a lot of goodies for free as well...I have owned 12 motorcycles and never bought a brand new one. The used market is very soft here in So cal.
Thanks for the information. I just called LA Harley and got an out the door quote for $20,341. I'm going to call my local dealerships to see if they can beat that price. If not, looks like I'm going to be buying from LA Harley.
