push down and twist it is that easy. You don't need a new cap or anything else.

My '08 fatboy did this, this week for the 1st time. Spewed gas all over me when I took off. Turned the cap some more it quit, thought I just didn't screw it in all the way. Now I know what to watch for and how to fix it. Thanks to all of you here on HDF. If there is some problem with gas caps I think HD should be looking into it. What are they waiting on someone to get caught on fire.

I have the same problem with my 2010 Dyna FXDC but I will try the push down technique that you are all doing and hopefully it works.

Same here on my '09' Heritage. Can't believe Harley can't even make a gas cap that works. Never had this problem riding Kawasaki's for over 30 years. Push down on it and make it seat in more and it'll work. PIA but that just the way it is.
