Just Finished Installing the 7 deg rake kit on a 2005 springer classic, wow what a difference.
Any one looking to do the kit needs to be aware of some real problematic areas.
The Original stem removal is a one way trip, in the absence of any heavy duty press its a drill and cut job.
Also the supplied installation guide is a bit scant, and definately has to be modified or else you will end up with a misaligned top tree, I thought originally they had sent me the wrong one ie. an FX type.
I contacted Joe at Vulcaneng. who was very helpfull, but by then I had fixed the problem, any ways both the FX and FL share the same tree only the stem differs.

Do you have any pictures? How much did it lower the front? Did you lower the rear to match?
Pictures will follow shortly, but you will see 7.5 deg pushes the front a little more than 4.5deg.
I still need to sort out some speedo issues, and as i work away from home alot, things dont happen quickly.

Any updates on your 7 degree kit, pics, performance report, etc.?
I'm glad I found this thread! i need some input! lol! at speeds over 65mph while turning the bike shimmies or hop, i'm guessing this is the death wobble? not sure i haven't experience one before. I installed the Vulcan 4.5 degree rake on my 04 FXSTS along with the Burley lowered springs. at the same time I installed a Buddy Pro Air Ride on the rear with a 250mm wide tire kit and PM wheels (21" front and 18" rear). the whole setup excluding the burley springs and the Vulcan rake kits came out of a 2001 nightrain. The front wheels had the disc brakes installed on the left where the springer has the discs on the right so i flipped the tire around and installed the wheels opposite way to get the brake disc to the right. the wheel fits but it's not centered to the fork, its about 1/4" to the right.
after reading the thread, it seems that the rake and lowering springs didnt affect the ride at all, so i'm wondering if the off centered front wheel could be the cause?
the Burly springs do not let the front end work as it was intended to work. When I put them on my 96 it made the front end heavy and absolutely killed the ride. The weight when turning at speeds lower than 30 or so was enough to make me take them off.I got to ride a 4.5 kit bike and it had no noticeable bad ride characteristics. A little more turn radius was needed over stock but not in the league with a raked out long front end chopped bike. Will be doing one before I send my front end to the coater this winter.
Thanks for your input. the burly with the rake made the front end fell much more lighter and it feels good. you are right however on the way the springer work not being the same as stock, a lot more stiffer.
it looks like no one really had any issues with the wobble on these kits from what i can see after searching for the last two days. i guess it's process of elimination...
