I'm in the middle of trying to put the Burnout Softail Lowering Kit on my Deluxe. I pulled the shocks but I am having a Hell of a time getting the right shock back in. What is the trick guys?
No Rich I was putting them one at a time and was following the directions. I got them both in but it was a royal bitch to do. Now all I need is a 15/16 box wrench cut in half to make the final adjustments.
Love the way it looked slammed without the shocks. Time to start saving for a shotgun.
Idk if it's the same on the deluxe, but I actually had to install the right shock from the left side, and kind of wiggle it in to the slot, meanwhile I had to physically lay under my rear tire (bike was up on a jack)..and i used my chest to move the swingarm up and down until it fell in to place
It's a PAIN. I actually used the cycle-jack and a floor jack, adjusting
the swing arm. It took a few tries. Putting the stock shocks back in was
easier than those 422 things. I had those on for one long ride. Rode like a brick.

That's diff, every post in here has always been that there were great shocks
