im looking to buy the sundowner deep bucket seat for my deuce, i have never sat on one and im not sure if i want to buywithout some input. is this seat really comfortable for the passenger and me. ilike the stock deuce seat but my wife cant ride more than an hour on it.i know that when people are selling stuff they will tell you what you want to hear. even if its not the truth. just to make a sale. so how is this seat? is it worth the $300.00 or should i look at something else. thanks guys!!
I am selling one on ebay now, I switched to a mustang solo seat.
I don't ride two up that much so the mustang solo with passenger pad works well for me.
but back to your question...............
Itwas very comfortable for me while riding, and the rear passenger pad is alot wider than the stock Deuce seat.
the only person I ever had on the back with the sundowner seat on the bike was my daughter, and she said that it was way more comfortable than the stock Deuce seat!
I think it's a good choice.[8D]
I bought one for exactly the same reason for my NT.
I use a SoftBottom pad on mine for long runs. The back of the "bucket" seems to get to my tailbone after about three hours. My stock seat doesn't bother my tailbone, but it makes my legs numb on long rides.
Personally, I'm going to have GelTek (makes softbottom pads) send me a couple of sheets of their waffle gel and have an upholstery shop "inlay" it into the stock HD foam and possibly modify the shape of the seat for my riding position, exactly.
I put one on my 05 Standard for my wifes comfort. She loved it, I hated the thing. It positioned me back too far and it had a ridge under my thighs that was killer after a couple of hundred miles. I rode fine with the stock seat. Our solution was to get an Electraglide which she likes even better on the long haul
I give you the other side. It is better for me on long rides like all day. But my wife does not like it. For her and my grandson it's to wide and it hurts there legs. They won't ride with it. So who knows.
some how try one on your bike before you buy it
i bought a sundowner sight unseen for all the reasons above wifes comfort better for longer runs etc.
paid $600.00 for it in Australia put it on the night train and could of cried
its way too big for anything other than a fatboy
imo looks awful just my opinion mind you
i have one. it's worth it's weight in gold if you are going for a long ride. i also have the kurakyn quick change seat bolt and i switch back in forth. stock seat for around town and my sundowner for the long hual. also i purchased mine off ebay for around $150 new.

That's weird, because the sundowner seat moved me forward, a little closer to the handlebars!
I actually liked that, and it felt very comfortable while riding it, I never got any pain in my legs from it.
I guess every butt is different!
you guys from down under gotta' start using ebay more!
$600.00 for a seat is crazy![:'(]

I put one on my Deluxe and it helped me a lot. I am short 5'6" and it supports my lower back for long rides and allows more control while stopped since there is a narrower tongue on the seat. My wife rides with me and likes the rear pad.
I paid about $300 for mine and I know you can pick them up on e-bay for a lot less that that. I paid the full price because I wanted the matching basketweave leather on the side of the seat.
If that does not work for you then you may have to look at Mustang or Corbin and pay the big bucks.
