No windshield and I drive 60 miles to work and a lot on highways at 70mph. used to have one on the old bike and the buffeting was annoying. Rode this bike this way and never would go back to a windshield. I do make sure to wrap my face witha bandana for the bugs though.
I toyed with various screens on my jap hacks in the past and found that if the screen is not right riding is made more uncomfortable due to head buffeting and wind noise.
My fatty without screen is good and comfortable up to 70mph unless against strong wind where my open helmet gets wind into it and it tries to rip my head from my neck.

I don't get all this 'buffeting' and wind noise talk. My stock shield is as smooth as glass and very quite... Without, I get beat to death at highway speeds and have to keep my head pointed down or my helm tries to rip my head off (funny when you see others doing the same).
