My bike looks better without it but I never take it off, I can hear so much better not to mention the wind trying to pull the half helmet off. On trips the no shield guys we ride with are always more beat up and tired, they are always the first to pull over when we hit a little rain.

I am fortunate enough to have multiple bikes. On the RoadGlide I definitely want tne shield ( and bags) as it is my long distance bike. On my VRod I use a custom made very small but effective shield because at 90+ mph without it you feel you are not riding the bike but simply holding on. On my DeLuxe I will never use a shield or bags.

Good sometimes, bad sometimes, that's why mine is removeable. With all the detachable windshield out there, there is no reason you ahve to choose one or the other. Get a Harley Quick Detachable (easiest/fastest one to put on and take off) and throw it on when you think you need it.

Buy a used one cheap (and replace the lexan if you need to). Take it off if you don't like it. Upgrade if you do.
