Default Headlight question

So I have been looking and can't seem to find a direct answer so I'll ask will the headlight nacelle from a road king bolt on in place of the one on my softail? I'm sure there are inside parts that need to be change, I was curious about at the tree? Also I'm not running a light bar so that is no concern. One other thing HID, or LED which is brighter? I was hoping someone with first hand experience with them both? I appreciate the help in advance!

Glad you found your answer, but you didn't say to which question. I can tell you that the LED head light is far brighter than the HID light I took off.

I found the answer I needed on the nachelle. Which led kit did you end up using?

The factory evidently will not work, I believe it has different spacing on the four side mounting bolts, baddad makes one for the softail front end. I'm thinking about getting the extended one.

Touring trees are wider than softail.

I see, I thought what I was reading meant the bolt holes were wider. I think I like the looks of baddads extended nacelle made for the softail. I have to look and see if it will still work with my bars, I'm thinking of wrapping it with the same flat black I have on the bike and having the chrome front trim ring.

I ended up buying the HD LED head light. I did a side by side comparison of the ones from Harley and those from Kuryakyn. Both were a big improvement over stock. The Kuryakyn are cheaper, but to me they didn't put out as much light as the HD ones. I'm basing this off the videos they both have on-line. I also reviewed a write-up done by two guys that actually bought both lights and compared them. Read these threads.
