Default Open end wrench

I somewhat had the same problem, I started the bolt by hand then tighten the best I could with a stubby 1/2 x 4" snap on open end wrench. It was painfully slow as u can only get in 1/2 a turn at a time but it worked, no leaks. This was with the stock exhaust flanges and heat shields installed on pipe "bought the system used" anyways hope this helps and good luck.

I have been having the exact same problem. I cannot get the socket on that bottom nut. I used my fingers as best I could, then tightened the other side with the socket. Holds for a couple of months and starts to get loose. I don't ride this bike far so it takes time. Bike starts popping on deceleration is the hint it's time to tighten. Well I'm tired of this crap. Before I put a dimple in the pipe I am gonna try a 12 point 5/16-24 arp flange nut that uses a 3/8" socket instead of a 1/2". This will give me a little extra room. There are also socket nuts, aka allen nuts that would work using an allen wrench instead of a socket for even more clearance. you would probably have to use a couple of washers but i am sure it would work.

But I'm with the original poster, a 1/2" socket using a 1/4"drive will NOT fit on that nut for me either. (well, i mean i got it on, but when you start to tighten it, it gets in a bind and then the socket gets stuck and wont come off. sure, i could hammer it off with a screwdriver, but then how would i get that nut off if i had to?. either way, its a shitty design and i would not buy it again if i had the choice.
