600cc vs 1700cc. LOL.

But I know who was having the most fun.
****-eating grin: priceless.
It all relative dude.... yeah my engine is is that much bigger, but then i could also say that while his engine is winding to 13-14k rpms I'm at about 4k....how the hell do you think that those crotch rocket make power???? You can't make much power with around 50 ft-lbs of torque without spinning the crap out of them

and yeah, i did have a ****-eating grin...lol

Just the fact that the OP is running a blown engine and sounds like he knows his stuff and how to ride it will eat most idiots on a rocket for a few lights.

Id give my left nut to ride that torque monster for an hour.

Does it have a little green light shaped like a leaf that comes on when your getting your peak fuel millage?
yeah, it does have that little green light shaped like a leaf...the weird thing is that it NEVER comes on....lol

thanks, thats why i bought my bike in the first place.....to be different than everyone else. Sure, I could have bought a 10 sec crotch rocket, but what fun is that? Its more challenging/rewarding to make a 10 sec harley and surprise the **** out of all the guys on rockets.

Its the guys on sport bikes that look at me like "yeah, right you can't keep up with me" that I absolutely love going WOT on. Most of them don't even know that my bike HAS a supercharger, even though it's sticking out the side of the bike!

My cost comparison was supposed to be funny. When the rocket guys talk with the Harley guys they always say they bought a rocket because they are faster.........now that your Harley makes that untrue all the rocket guys would have left is that the rocket is less money. I guess it was an ill timed statement.

I absolutely believe that your bike from a 20 mph roll on could outrun a 600.

ahhh gotcha...yeah, sometimes it's hard to tell via typing what somone's tone is....and you are definitely right, that is usually all they say is there bike costs half of mine and is still just as fast..

Talking

I play the flip side of this game sometimes too.
Got me a little SV650 Suzuki sport bike to ride work daily, save wearing out the good iron.
It's a little Ducati-style v-twin so pulls out of the hole real well, and keeps going all the way to 10,000rpm. I dont even shift into second until 35mph.

Surpises the hell out of EVERY Harley rider I have come across so far, especially the guys with the big inch engines, cams, big sukker hangin out the side etc etc when I leave them absolutely in the dust right from the get-go at the lights.

Haven't come across any supercharged ones yet though.

Sounds wicked! I've been around FI cars for a long time, but never a bike. You just got me thinking and my wallet already hates you. My wife will follow suit shortly. LOL

Nothing wrong with bench racing over a few beers! Many years ago when I lived on Long Island, my brother and I would take off from work on various Fridays and head on over to West Hampton Dragway. I'd be on my Honda CBR600F2 and he was on his Kawasaki ex500. We'd pack a lunch, fill our gas tanks up right before entering the dragway and for about $20 per person (don't remember the exact price) we entered the facility and could make as many passes as we wanted. Hell, I'd make over 30 runs on my 600F2 in a single day! I seriously doubt ANY Harley making the serious power we are talking about could make anywhere near that many runs without breaking. My Honda never once broke on the track. I certainly wasn't what one would call a great drag racer, but I had a lot of practice and runs under my belt. I also got see see a number of fast (and not so fast) cars and bikes run.
Anyways, one day these guys come on over to my brother and myself talking trash. Totally unprovoked since we would just keep to ourselves, basically having fun and working on technique, tree light timing, launch, staging, etc... It all seems simple enough, but in reality there are a number of things going on in a drag race.
Anyways, these guys were on GSXR750s, which is a much faster bike than a 600F2.
We get to talking and my brother basically says, stop talking the trash and lets race and not only that, says, I'll ridethis 600F2 and will beat you on the 750!
My 600 had airbox, ignition, exhaust mods, which were pretty standard mods at the time. The 750s probably had similar mods. My brother is lighter than I and would launch harder than me (it takes a lot of ***** to launch a crotch rocket hard).
They laugh at the prospect of this race, but say let's do it.
Needless to say my brother does beat them!
Now, looking at the slips of paper, yes the 750 did have a faster 1/4 time. BUT, my brother beat them off the line hence he was the first to cross the finish line.
So, the faster bike isn't the one that always wins, it's the one that gets to the finish line first. My brother is now riding a ZX-14R (along with a HD WideGlide) that has I believe over 200 horsepower at the rear wheels. It's a bike that does 9's in the 1/4 mile with a trap speed in the 140s. I doubt many HDs (especially ones WITHOUT a wheelie bar or extended swingarms) would touch it.
