Not to throw a wrench into matters but I looked at the Thundermax also. The only reason that we over looked it was the price. I hear that their autotunefeature is great.
Yeah Im not sure what the benefit is one way or the other there . One thing with the pc V if i want to put my bike back stock to sell or whatever I can do that . With the Power Vision you cant , well you can but it will cost you another $100 bucks to clear it . Not trying to beat you up about your choice just throwing everything out there for ya
It doesn't cost anything to go back to your stock map. When the PV is initially hooked up, you save a copy of the stock map and you are able to flash it back to the ecm anytime you want.
Sorry, but no need to have all the $pendy display/HUD while riding - unless you're running bike in 1/4-mile increments. Once you set tuner to bike upgrades it's good until next mod so why spend more for the "shiny" stuff...JMO. Dobeck's been making tuners for years & owned two so far w/great performance results. Also, if I want to make changes, just pop side cover & set...easy & 1/2 price of these other "vision" units.
If U stick with the same pipes, breather, cams, and don't change all the time IMO its hard to beat the older SERT and the newer SePst, son and I've had 4 of them without any issue's or a single problem for the last 6yrs.
For the Son and I we've been totally happy with them..
Both of these tuners will easily turn off and resort to your stock HD setting...
On the TFI or Gen3, Just remove the ground wire and it is off... YES the original settings HD uses are right back...
I have used Both of these units on my 09 FLHR.. The TFI is easily adjustable with a small screw driver. Only need to adjust the first pot (grn) and the rest is pretty much pre-set for your modifications from Dobecks Performance.
Either is an easy install (:45 yourself)
The Gen 3 uses buton and lights to set it... also it comes pretty much set for action. INSTALL and...Fire it up
