Default Using a Car tire on a softail

We were at this bike night on Wednesday and I saw this guy who had a 205 car tire on his softail!!? I asked how it was working out for him and he swears buy it. He said it's a 205 steel belted radio and gets up to 15,000 miles out of it two times longer than the harley tire and it's hafe the cost also there is more tire on the road.It looks squard off and does not look like it would corner at all but he said it does fine. Has anyone ever done this before? If so I would like to hear from you!!

Thanks Ed

Old news...people been doing it as long as there have been motorcycles. Makes perfect sense on big touring bikes that eat rear tires in 3-5 thousand miles

I love how a hundred dollar savings in tire wear somehow trumps safety and common sense..

Now if the Michelin Commander II gives the mileage it claims, we won't have to buy a car Tyre will we.

He only gets 15k out of it..

the new Michelin's Commander II's are claimed to do better than that..

A lot of touring riders say they get 15-20 K on the rears all the time in here..

I get about 10k on the lops 401's on the rear.. still don't think I'll try one..
