Just installed one and same challenge. Used a wooden stick to persuade/push the compressor to go fully against the oil drain hose, then the shock could be lifted into place. When all said and done, compressor is touching trans, their is about ~3/16" clearance between shocks and compressor. No clearance between compressor and drain hose but this should not be an issue as it is the compressor body touching, not the compressor fins as they get hot. Bent the brake line a bit and secured some stock harnesses to the brake line that could possibly lay on the compressor fins. Prefer a tight fit with a larger compressor!! All is good!!

I'm with you, I prefer the larger compressor, but I did not want that pressure against the drain tube, so I opted to file the corner of the pump down. Still, gotta hand it to JD for engineering this whole thing.

When did the new compressor become part of the kit then? I fitted my Shotguns in January, bought the kit from JD in December. Fitted to an 07 Heritage, and I didn't experience any issues fitting at all ??? Have I been lucky, or do I have a smaller compressor :-)

Pictures of the old compressor are on the shotgun site. It's just a tad shorter (maybe a 1/4").
