Does anyone know if there is an advantage to removing the baffles on my rush slip ons. I'm looking to make the sound a little bit louder ,does anybody have any experience with this
I have an 07 Softail Custom with RUSH 2 1/4 baffles. Has a nice deep sound, taking the baffles out will make it louder, but it will also sound rather "tinny". If you change exhaust and air intake you will probably have to have it re-tuned.
I took the baffles out of mine and it set off every car alarm within 50 yds just during regular riding. I put Big City Thunder cones to get the back pressure but I finally just went with full exhaust because I didn't like the sound. Loud but tinny is a good description. Sounded better with the baffles in.
