The good thing about the strut mount ones from Bad & G is that you can run one on both sides. I havd a swingarm bag, and I use it every day, but it would be useful to have a second bag.
I answered my previous question......I went with the DEADCREEK solo bag and hard mount. It is definitely quality 10/12 oz leather thick and rigid. it has a sweet liner too. Along with the hard mount it looks great on my 2012 fatboy lo.
Yea, I did that too, bought that Harley bag that lets water in, and at $200… (I failed to 'shop' and look around). So now that I have some nice 'old school' floppy throw-overs… I keep the heavy, wet no matter, stuff in that $200 bag. Tools, tire repair and compressor, flashlight, knife….
Bad G Customs. It's their square solo bag. You can mount it on the struts, or swingarm style like I did. They will do different buckles, stitching if you want.
I have the large Leatherworks swing arm bag. I have not drug the outside corner yet. Once I do, I will know exactly where to add a custom steel "shoe" to prevent further damage. I might just use a steel furniture glide, bolted in and sealed with RTV. I am surprised it has not touched down yet. I did make a custom "hard mount" to my bike with aluminum back plate, and 3 bolts, so the bag does not sag like it might with leather straps.
