Nope, actually not. I registered to their Forum but there's not much going on there. They do all of their communication mostly via Facebook, which I don't like.

Last year I was going to participate in their annual meeting in Austria but weather was not good enough for me to do the 1 day trip down there. This year they are going to meet in Berlin but going up there would need 2 days...for just 1 day of meeting...I don't think so.

I don't even know if there's a local bunch in my area....

H-D is missing out on making accessory sales and dealers are losing labor $$ because their catalogs omit the BO all over the place. Dopes.
I'm not specifically sure I agree with this. It's the price you pay for getting a factory custom that's specifically designed to be unique compared to the rest. Breakout is omitted by them because there are very few things it shares with other softails or models. Think it's bad for us, think about how it was for rocker owners for a LONG time. At the very least, the breakout and the street glide have both been cited in recent years as Harleys number one sellers and keeping hd fresh and relevant. Most people (like me) who like to customize/upgrade a bike like a breakout weren't going to a dealer in the first place and the rest probably had few things they would ever change on it besides cosmetics. Do I don't think Harleys losing much on service. Anyone who wants a million options to choose from should probably go to a Harley model that's been around for 20 years.

The price isn't really an issue, as long as they work as advertised. Only one of those locking clamps is required - if you want to lock the rack to your bike. My local dealer had one in stock - I got it today. It snaps right onto the fork tube - as advertised ... shazam!

The part number for the other three clamps is 57192-05A (non-locking). I ordered three. Here it is:

I've been trying to figure out a clean way to strap a bag to the bike for a while now. Putting it on the bars has worked well for me, except for occasionally knocking the headlight out of whack. Fabbing up this quick release rack looks like it'll solve that problem.
And here's the boardtracker locking version:

I think I'll get 1 locking and 3 non, and design a rack like that this to get cut out on a laser/water jet. If I can find time to make it happen, I'll post up the results.

Yep - that's exactly what I have in mind too...I gotta find a local outfit that will do low volume water jet work. There are plenty of outfits online, but I'd like to have it done close to home.

I'm in manufacturing (I'm an aerospace manufacturing engineer), so I know quite a few people/friends that could get it done. The hard part will be finding the time to come up with a solid design that I like.

If someone offered a rack like that for sale, I'm pretty sure I'd buy one.

Mods done to a Fatboy rear quick release rack.... welded in a section... and expanded the reach across the fender... then powder coated.... now fitting a HD bag for trips...

Well, I ordered the Kuryakyn bag and 4 clamps from BoardTracker ($202 shipped); looks like this project is a go!

Once it all gets here, it shouldn't take long to whip-up a design for the hardware. I'll likely make a few extra sets of the side plates (probably aluminum for weight savings), cross bars (aluminum tubing) and hollow, tamper-resistant bolts.
