So there's two questions...
1) Does changing the tune from what H-D builds the bike with void the bikes warranty?
2) Can H-D techs tell if a guy switches tunes back & forth - like from H-D tunes to V&H tunes and then back to original H-D tunes?

Everyone seems to agree that changing the tune voids the bikes warranty. I got a problem with that. Say I change the tune, OK? Then, 2 weeks, 8 months, however long down the road, the right taillight blows and the replacement won't come on. The socket is dead. You're gonna tell me that because I changed the tune on the engine, that now the warranty on the rest of the bike is void? That's BS. My answer would be - show me how changing the engine tune affects the rest of the bike. Fix the f'd up crap on the bike or I'm gonna go out in the parking lot and start running my suck at level 10 about what a bunch of sideways crooks y'all are at this sh!thole dealership... and then tell 'em you'll be back tomorrow with Karen, lol ....we all know one

Y'all ever heard of the Magnuson-Moss Act?
the power train warranty is void. The rest of the bike (electric for your example) is not.

that act has never been used in this context and Harley has two areas that effect your warranty: EPA regulations and this act. So while using non-Harley parts is allowed under this act, they are required by the EPA to void warranties of bilked 2017+ that violate epa standards to include non-epa approved tunes. If pipes are not epa approved, it can be voided. If the tuner isn’t Harley (the only epa approved tuner that I’m aware of), voided.

You can sue and cite the act. But the epa decree will likely give them all the cover they need. There’s a reason nobody’s successfully used this act to overturn the warranty void or even tried. Likely because the suits doa.

Not sure about any other fenders but two of the Thunderbike ones are fully certified and approved (there may be more that has the approval now) for pillion passenger carrying should the need or requirement ever arise? They are very heavy and sturdy in build. This may be why they are bulkier at the mounting points perhaps? I bought and fitted one as I do carry pillion on the odd occasion my daughter wants to accompany me. I also ‘Shotgun Shocked’ the bike at the same time.

It is indeed a 200mm Thunderbike rear fender which is approved for pillion. It is no less bulky than the rest it is the black paint that makes it look less bulky. If you look at the raw deal on their website it would become clearer. Mine is the 260mm.

Naturally I too had to grind off the lugs. Nevertheless when the fender returned from paint I had to grind off some more as I hadn’t taken into account the thickness of the paint being applied. PC997 before you go sorting out the frame whilst your waiting for your fender to return from the paint shop you may want to grind off a little more than you have already? The instructions state to grind them off completely, I just ground off enough to allow the fender to fit and that was a mistake. Mine had to be almost totally gone! I had also sorted out the frame with primer and paint which had to come off again.

Wanted to get rid of those awfully looking foot pegs and hand grips so changed them for the Diamond black collection together with the derby cover.

Its Thunderbike fender. I got that picture from Thunderbike's website about a year or so ago. The one in the picture has built in signals and brake light. Mine does not have those. I bought Rizoma Corsa S in black.

Yes, its the 260 mm fender. I made sure to grind off enough to accommodate the paint thickness. But never know until the fender is back. That is why I haven't painted the frame areas yet. Hopefully the fender will fit just right without additional grinding. I agree with you on the sturdiness of the Thunderbike fender. Germans and their steel!! Noone can beat them on that!

I seen the same black n white pic on Pinterest. It's a Thunderbike. Noticed the brake rotor is on the drive side too.

Yes. That brake/sprocket combination is one expensive option. But it really clean-up the rear.

Thumbs up Rear Crossbones Wheel Swap

I have a 2009 Crossbones and am converting it to a 1930's look. Does anyone have suggestions on a 16" direct replacement rear wheel (black with spoke) to accommodate the 16" vintage tire (firestone, Shinko, etc.) Also, the bike currently has a Fatboy fender which I think will be too big once the 16 is under it. Any thoughts regarding the fender (keep it a professionally shape it) or get a new one (from a springer classic or other).
