Thanks- So I guess any way you slice it, a decent sissy bar and back pad setup is going to run in the $300 range (plus or minus).

Since you are from Oz, I suppose I should say "Good on ya mate" for sharing the info and pics. Not sure what territory you are in, I spent 6 months there awhile back and drove from Sydney to Cairns, then back. Hell of a nice country you got there, some of the friendliest folks I've ever met, killer beaches. Endless endless open roads and beautiful scenery (especially the female type of scenery). I only wished I had a bike there instead of the beater Holden sedan...

the ginz is no more forward than the bars pictured above. I dont think these will fit a passenger comfortably either without having the rider forced to sit a bit forward. The idea for me is to have 2 riders on the bike comfortably. I have seen one that allows that yet.

I'm having them move mine back 2 inches. with the ginz quick detatch you can have them move the bar back 1 5/8" without any modification to the quick detach clips. at 2" i'll have to clearance them a bit so they have clearance around the bolt heads.

Its bs the non quick detach is easy on off with just 2 bolts. Yes, its 2 bolts per side but removing bolts to begin with is not easy on off. its not a hard thing to do but its not a substitute for the quick detach. Throw in these are bolts that need to be torqued properly with loc tite and its not a quick and easy thing. quick and easy to me doesnt involve bolts, a torque wrench, and loctite.

He recommends the longer bar because of our wide fenders. He said anything shorter looks strange so I took his word for it even though I was looking for a shorter set-up. I'm not stoked to hear about how forward the bar is. Hopefully he comes up with a solution otherwise I may have to send mine back.

The most important aspect of having this setup is to make it as comfortable as you can for both rider and pillion. When modifying mine thats why I had my wife sitting on the bike and she told me where she wanted the back pad to sit. I just clipped it on the rear docks only and tilted it backwards to find out the position she wanted it. Any further back and she felt she was leaning back too far and didn't feel right. Obviously it depends on the size of the rider & passenger aswell, but for me I certainly am sitting in my normal riding position and not sitting forward.

Definitely agree Msmall that the bar has to be quick detach rather than removing bolts, with the docking kit it is literally a 10 sec. job to remove the bar.

I'm also designing mine with a custom seat I'm having made in mind. It pushes rider and passenger back an inch or so. The pillion seat actually goes past where the current pillion bolt goes in. So if it's tight with the stock seats it will be unbearable with the custom seat.

Does anyone have a 2013 with abs and no security? Harley website, nada, kbb etc seem to always have the 2 grouped together.

That's because ABS was only included with the "Security Package" for 2013. For 2014 ABS was standard, and the Security Part was optional.

Well, I've been up and running now for a week+ on a belt drive primary. I ended up going with a Rivera Primo 4 Extreme. I'd originally chose a BDL EVO-8SR-2 unit, but after over a month of waiting for status from BDL and no return calls or emails on a $1900 unit I pulled the plug and wrote them off. R-P not only answered my calls, they returned them! Wow what a concept! Two small problems with the install... I didn't reverse the Stator seal and it leaked. And when I went to pull the back panel there was no good way to get leverage because the panel's tranny shaft race held it on. I got the back panel off by tapping holes (3/8") on either side of the shaft and using a gear puller. What I found when I removed the rotor to reverse the seal was a piece of the seal riding against the spacer -nice assembly job HD! One thing to remember- the spacer in back of the rotor slides right out on the crankshaft, allowing you to get a good sized puller in there to yank out the seal. I didn't know that until after I'd busted a nut pulling the seal out. (Grrrrr). I made my own install tool, put everything back together, and... It still drips oil. Now it's a true Harley! So how does the belt drive feel? Well, I can feel every piston fire. There's no compensator inline now, so nothing to smooth out the engine. It was quite a shock to ride it the first time, but I'm used to it now. Maybe when I get lazy and want a smoother ride again I'll go back the the chain and compensator, but for now I'm staying with the belt. BDL uses a 2" belt, and Primo uses a 3". Also, the primary ratio for the chain is 1.35:1, BDL changes that to 1.32:1, and the Primo unit changes it to 1.55:1. For me, the stock primary left me with too much between gears, and 30mph was a bitch. With the Primo I'm going through the gears faster but spinning higher at speed so I'm not lugging. I think I'm turning about 3k at 70. I have the analog tach/digital speedo, and due to the changes in ratios the ECM is confused what gear I'm in. That should get corrected at the next service by the DT-2.

I should have apecified. I have a 2013 with abs and no security. That's why I was curious.

Since the only original option package for the "early" 2013 Breakout was the Security Package, which included ABS, it's possible that yours is a late '13 model when they were changing the options for 2014. Yours is probably pretty rare for a '13. (I ordered mine in late April '13)
