Lowering my fatboy
ORIGINAL: WARG
Instead of hijacking the previous post, I figured I would start a new one. Here goes...
I would like to lower my fatboy maybe 2 inches in the rear. However I am concerned that it will:
1. Affect the comfort of the ride
2. Rub when riding 2 up
I weigh 235lbs, so what do you guys think?
Thinking of going with the HD Low Profile shocks or maybe the burnout cycles kit (cheaper). I would rather do the burnout cycles kit due to cost and ease of installation but am concerned mostly about riding 2up.

1.- Yes, no matter what, you will affect the comfort of the ride big time.
2.- Dont worry aboutrubbing when two up, that won't happen, your swing arm comes prepared for that (it has a rubber cushion against the frame) instead worry about bottoming out which is very unpleasant and can make you loose control if it happens high speed.
3.- I weight 220 and I would never lower my Fat Boy again. Your ride looks just great as is, BUTgo over my firstline again.
Mimo.
I stiffened up my shocks as tight as they go, and lowered about 1.75".
That was 5 years ago.
Rides fine for me, but that's just me.
I wouldn't consider going back stock.

I wanted to lower mine originally as well, but came to the conclusion that if I was going to do it I would have to do it right and go with platinum air systems. It is so far outa the budget right now that it isn't even funny.
