I looked thru the archives and understand 4 1/2 inch pullback risers can be put on without cable changes. Here's my question. When I look at risers some are flush on the bottom and some are kind of necked down(counter sunk?) about1/8-1/4 inch. I'm confused looking at the HD parts book even. I want to buy off E-Bay, Harley is nuts on price. $149 for chrome risers is just flat robbery. Some say Heritage Classic are a direct fit(3 1/2 in?) and others say Duece but I think those are 6inch. Any body know for sure? Kike I say, even the HD book is vague on these.
I bought the 4" rises from HD at $100 because I wanted them now!! Any way I think you will need the flat bottom risers and I did not need any cables, all stock worked with no problem. I did pull the master cylinder loose to reroute the brake line because it was routed around the throttle cables and I wanted it under the cables. You can see in the pic below how the cables where routed.
The risers are chrome and I used the stock clamp as well. And as OldFenderGuy said the risers make a world of difference in the ride about 45 min into the ride. We went out last weekend for a 200 plus mile ride and I felt great afterwards.
