The Screamin' Eagle 180 will fit the Deuce with no other mods. It's a tight fit, but it does fit. That's what I had on my Deuce. Harley recommends the wide tire kit they sell, but it's not necessary.
Here's a picture of my old Deuce. It's not a picture from the rear, but you can see that I had the chrome version of the stock Deuce wheel and it had the Screamin' Eagle 180 on it with no other mods.

I have the same tire the SE deuce I haven't put on yet, are you saying that I don't need this kit that I bought http://vulcanworks.net/Deuce-180mm-W...Kit-p-392.html
some people say you need to shave the capiler, what about the belt guard, nothing rubs, need your feedback...thanks

I put the Screamin' Eagle 180 tire on my bike when I got a nail in the stock 160. I had the dealer install the 180 for me. They just pulled off the stock 160, and threw on the Screamin' Eagle 180. Nothin' else was done to the bike. I never had any issues with rubbing anything. The fit was tight, but there was just enough room so nothing rubbed. The wide tire kit just spaces things out a little more, but it's not really necessary. You can do a search here on the forum, and you'll see that a lot of people have done the same thing with no mods. I haven't heard of anyone having any trouble either.
I don't think it should make any difference, but my bike was '05. I don't think they ever changed anything on the Deuce, though, so the year shouldn't matter.
Thanks Canuck and Live to Ride, I'LL be doing that next tyre. I think what has happened is becauce the 180 is fitted to the 4.5" rim instead of a 5 or 5.5" rim the rim has pulled the sidewalls in if you know what I mean hence making the tyre narrower than if it were fitted to a wider rim. Its a 55 series tyre to, basically the tyre that goes on a Yammy R6. The one good thing to come out of it though is the tyre has got a high arch or rounded profile and it tips in to corner much easier than the old tyre, the difference really surprised me so she handles slower corners much better than before.
