What's your definition of inexpensive? It also depends on what kind you are looking for. They can range to just over a hundred but then you need the mounts which can sometimes cost as much as the shield. They can also go as high as 3 to 4 hundred. If I remember correctly I think rhahlow (sorry if i spelled that wrong) made his own, maybe he will jump on here or you can pm him for instructions on how he did it.

If you are planning on serious highway riding, I'd avoid a handlebar mounted shield. A good gust of wind from an 18 wheeler meeting you, and the shield may not stay in position. A used fork mounted shield from ebay would be a better deal in the long run.

Check out eBay.....I recently picked up a really nice, like new HD quick detachable supersport windshield w/ all the hardware for $86.00 plus s/h. (Retail $275 from catologue)

Ebay is a good bet. If you are buying new, Memphis Shades has superior quality at a lower price. Suggest either a short shield or a big tall shield (Memphis Fats)--middle sizes are more likely to cause buffeting in my experience. I like mytall Fats.Some like a little fly shield. To each his own.

I had a slipstreamer just like that that was bar mounted on a bike that I rode numerous highway miles on for the entire time I owned the bike. It was bulletproof. Just my experience and opinion.
