I bought an '05 1200 Sportster. There was no Manual included.
Is there a PDF manual I could download somewhere? Do I need it?
Yesterday I ran my first tank of gas...I got 250 Kms. before going to 'reserve'.
How far can I go on the reserve tank? (answer in kms. or miles. would be appreciated. )
Assuming you also have a .8 gallon reserve, the math is easy. Before hitting reserve you will run through 3.7 gallons (a). Say you average 240KM (b)before hitting reserve, that means you are getting 64.86KM (c)per gallon. With .8 gallons (d)in reserve, you should get 51.89KM (e)before running completely out of fuel as follows:
You can order a owners manual from Harley, it's not a lot of use but handy to have.

Kind of what the salesman said; "if you want ..u can keep u'r 883 manual . the new one, won't tell u much more."
That being said, I don't think i'll bother ordering.
Thank you for the link to the repair manual. Fortunately, I have a Sportster-riding neighbour who said it would be his pleasure to help keep my bike 'tip-top'. Gd. neighbour eh?
thx again,
