Hey everybody this is my first time posting here but i need some help or any idea to this problem. I own a 05 sportser 1200c. I took my bike for a ride stopped and ate rode to my next destanation and when it was to head home, i rode not even a quarter mile and my bike completely died 😕. We pushed it back to where we was tested the battery and terminals which were fine. Did a couple more test and checked some wires but no answer so far. Any ideas to help figure out this problem??
You probably asked and answered the following before posting here:
Have you double checked the kill switch?
Do the lights come on?
Does it crank but not turn over?
Has it got fuel?
Did you recently add fuel which might be bad?
Are any fuses blown?

Check kif there is gas in the tank, and if there is check the petcock to make sure its running. Also mabey you had the petcock on reserve and just ran out of gas. Also check your ground and positive cables are tight cable, they sometimes come loose especially the ground where it connects to the motor, hard to reach

Reason: forgot something
If by dead you mean no power from the battery check the ground at the motor, lots of vibration, also at the battery were they tend to kink, check under the insulation, this is what I found on mine, if you replace the cables get them at least a couple inches longer than stock.

it has gas and checked all the fuses last night. Theres no lights coming on no crank up, and no type of sounds or anything its like the battery isn't plugged up at all. Will have to double check kill switch

See above post, check your cables, my 05 as had them break twice at the motor, it is under the insulation, visibly look fine till you cut back the insulation.

will do just got told to check grpund wires too gonna try everything for sure!!
My idea of checking ground cables means removing them , buffing both the contacting surfaces to bright bare metal with fine abrasive paper and carefully reinstalling them . It's no good just giving them a wiggle if oxidisation has crept in-between the surfaces .
