Says it came from the 2-02 issue of "Motorcycle Cruiser" magazine. Obviously it's missing a few models (newer)...but I still thought it was interesting how they all lined up.
Wow! That is one hell of a gap from the Deuce to the V-Rod. I had no idea those were that fast stock. I am proud to own the fastest air cooled model (04' Deuce) and the second to last slowest model (08' 883L). The other part I find is pretty amazing is that the 883's hold their own pretty well given the large difference in displacement. I have a great time riding the wife's 883. That enginehas a suprising amount of torque, but gives up a little quick on the top end.I just wish she would let me put forward controls on it and a set of pipes so it would feel more like a Harley and less like a Honda. Good post, that was real interesting!
I can understand the v-rod and euce being where they are. The v-rod is the fastets stock harley and the duce has the widest tyre out fo the big twins so can be launched harder off the line. But the rest is dubious unless they were all done by the same rider on the same track. The t-sport is exactly the same as a superglide sport but with bags and a screen, and the difference in times between a 883r and a 883 standard is huge in drag terms. Same goes for the softy v fl stuff, weight is a bigger factor in drag racing so how can a bike with the same torque anfd hp be faster than a bike that is lighter ?
Great find though nice to see the t-port u there ( I had one) and that the 1200 sport is worth it as well
The reason the 883R is the slowest and is slower than the 883 standard is because of the simple fact that it's a damn boat anchor when it comes to weight.
The 883R is much heavier than the other 883 models (except the C - which is about the same in running order).
Good to see somefigures, I will ride an E.T for my 1200S this summer andsure it's interesting tocompare how far I'm from that low 13's. Ahead or behind, I have no idea.

This was probably true back in 2002, when the data was apparently published. Back then the 883R had more differences from the standard 883 (2-into-1 pipe and so on).On the later rubber-mount models the 883R specificationlists itas having the same weight as the standard and low variants. Thecustom islisted as being afewkg heavier.
