Help!
I have an 89 sportster 1200, put in new plugs and it runs great for about 20 miles, afterwards the plugs foul
and it spits etc. both plugs have a black powdery coating. any ideas? I am going to bring it in for service but I would like to have an idea of whats wrong... moved to a new area and not sure how the mechanics are so I'd to at least sound like I have an idea so I can avoid any potential fleecings=)
Bring the Bike to Woodstock Harley, Tell them whats wrong, and have them replace my front tire.
they Rejet from 175 to 170 do the recalls and replace my tire....
all done.... I think--
half way home my front caliper comes off- they never bolted the damn thing down..
ok found the mounting bolts(miracle) get the thing back on and start heading home.
all of a sudden the thing starts running like crap again!!!
Check the plugs and of course they are fouled!!! So $400 later the bike aint fixed!!!
any suggestions?
what should I check now ? anyone know a good mechanic upstate NY? Help!!!
man i hope you get the carb problem fixed.....as for the front caliper.....i would have went back and beat that mechanics ***!
then found a new mechanic!!
welp took the bike back- all is well - I'll never go there again! there anwer - dont use the choke(shmucks)
good new is they checked everything with me there in the shop wacthing everything- so my biggest fear is gone-
I thought it may be the cylanders - but my compression is perfect - the only thing left is the carb - any suggestions
on a good aftermarket or should I just go for a stock replacement? Enjoy the 4th!!!!!!!!!
