Default removing the 100th editition badges off the gas tank

im changing the gas tank on my 2003 100th aniversay xlh.. i wish to change the badges over to the new tank. any one have any ideas how to remove them.. also the aniversary pinstriping.. anyoone know where i can get this from.. very gratefull for any input in this matter...

I heard people use dental floss, work around from the edge to the centre till you peel the whole thing off. I haven't tried it myself but it makes sense to me.

if it's anything like a car, it's on there with adhesive. few minutes with a heat gun and it'll practically fall off. NOTE: Keep the gun moving!!!

edit: heat gun=hair dryer x 2

People have used different things to get them off, ie: dental floss, fishing line and even an old broken guitar string. Just take your time and they will come off, as far as the stripe, this is a decal that you might get from harley.

im replacing the stock tank with a 2" SMOOTH TOP STRETCHED GAS TANK 4 gal capacity.. having airbrushed design on tank and fenders. shouold look pretty good.. ( I hope). still looking for a design.. nothing brash. just a nice cool design..

Monofiliment fishing line also works well..just be careful to cut through the adhesive only so you don't scratch the tank. Some people like to take a hair dryer and heat it up before removing the badge.
