hey mich,

what is the part# to the SEPST? i found a bunch on ebay but none for sportsters. just want to make sure i get the proper tuner! harley is trying to charge me an arm and a leg to get my ecm re-flashed & told me i have to purchase the tuner through them in order for them to flash it!!! so either way i have to buy the tuner, i might as well do it myself..... any part #'s to the items i need would be greatly appreciated. cables, tuner, software , etc. if you even have a seller on ebay that you recommend, i'd take that too.

the software cd is # 32111-12

once again, thanks for the help!

Here are the part #'s that I ordered:
SEPST 32109-08b
cable kit 32184-08a
software 32111-11

You can google these parts and get the best prices probably. I paid $499 plus shipping for mine, they were sold as a set.

My converted bike is running excellent and was well worth the money, time and effort. I have 1200kms on the new engine now.

took the bike out and rode her pretty hard today. Found a great desolate straight away with no traffic where I was able to do some safe SEPST smart tune runs. Took it almost to redline from 1st-3rd then hit 95mph in 4th which was 5800 rpm. Did this run several times gathering data. I am able to get the information regarding the rpms with no tach because the recordings have it all logged and I can see it when I get home on my PC.

Just under 1000 miles and the bike is running and sounding great.

I have to say, I am not eager to go much over 100mph on the sportster. It doesnt't feel unsafe at that speed but it is not as confidence inspiring at 100mph as other bikes I have owned in the past. since it's not that aerodymanic it is too sensitive to wind and a little twitchy at high speed.

So I wish I had given a bit more thought to the A/C I picked.
When I changed the oil with synthetic at about 600 miles after the conversion, I was careful to make sure the oil level was about 1/2 way up the dipstick between the full and empty lines, and that was at operating temperature. I was careful about this because of what I had read about oil blowby. I have checked it a few times recently and thought I noticed it was getting lower. I checked it after a long ride yesterday and it was definately down. it was just above the low line. I have not noticed any smoke on accel or decel, but I will have to keep an eye on that. I decided to pull my A/C off and take a look at the breather holes. I think I found where the oil has been going, as there was oil on the A/C backing plate (nothing showing from the outside of the filter but almost dripping on the back plate) and also on the TB shutter. I thought this might happen which was why I was careful to make sure not to overfill the oil tank but I was not expecting it to be this bad. On the dipstick it looks like it has lost about 1/3 of a quart over the last 500 miles.
If this continues I will be thinking of switching to a new type of A/C next winter that has it's own seperate breather bolt system.
By the way, the bike seems to be running fine.
Any thoughts on this oil consumption, it seems high to me?

Depending on the piston type, ring material, and clearances you may be simply experiencing "seating" consumption.

I should also add that the new engine has about 1200 miles on it.
