Default Starting problems

A friend has a 07 1200 Sporster that will not start. She has power as in lights, but nothing at the starter. The problem was given over the phone so not alot of information available. Maybe someone has had a similar problem. Also unable to get to a dealer.

As you said, not a lot of info. But if the lights are on, I will assume the key is in the ignition, all the way forward. The 07 has a neutral start switch, so it needs to be in neutral or have the clutch engaged. Does it have the security system? If so, is the key fob within close proximity?

dj, thanks for your help, I will relay the info about the neutral start switch, she may have overlooked the bike being in gear.

man i wish my bike had that neutral safety feature. I got use to it on my other bike, tried to be cool and show my friend my new harley, pushed the start button in first gear, learched forward and barely kept the bike upright.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who has done that before! The bike jumped and made me jump... looked like a total **** I'm sure.
