Default Rear Wheel Removal

Can you guys tell me how complex it is to remove the rear wheel from the bike? From what I can see, it doesn't look hard but I want to know if there are any tricks I need to know or if it's a relatively simple task. Any special tools I'd need to do this?

Checked out my Clymer manual but it's hard to make headsor tailsout of what'sin there sometimes...THANKS!

Default RE: Rear Wheel Removal

Chris, I used two jacks when removed the rear wheel from my sporty. Set the bike on a regular mc lift and placed a small floor jack under the rear wheel. Had to make sure I raised the bike high enough so the tire would clear the fender when I let down the floor jack. I loosened the axle nut before it got in the air. When removing and installing the wheel, have patience with the brake rotor and the belt. Depends on your exhaust whether you have to remove a muffler. Best way is to do it and take notes of what to do and not to do for the next time. And keep track of the spacers and how and which side they came off of.

more than likely you will have to remove a muffler so go ahed and buy a cross over gasket they are cheap . and if you remove the lower belt guard it makes taking the tire off alot easier
