Hello,
This is my first post here, I have an XL883 2007 bike. Just have 150 miles on it so far and I have a small oil leak on the rear cyclinder, rear bolt, on the left side. It is very small, looks like a drop or two around the bolt head. Is this kind of normal or maybe retorque the bolt, take it to the dealer, or is this just normal. Any thoughts.
On my 07' 1200N,it gets some small amounts of oil residue around the shift lever and the starter.. undoubtedly oil vapor working its way out of the engine. I expect this on an aircooled engine..no worries.

Chrome Rocker covers leaking? I believe there was a recall on some of these for warping in2007. Either way stealer should fix for free.
No, just the chrome head bolt. I'm wondering if there is a o-ring under the shoulder that could be replaced, if so could the bolt be removed by itself without damage to the head. I have a BMW R1100RT and to adjust the rockerarm slack, one head bolt must be loosened forthis adjustment, it seems to be ok for BMW. I haven't aquired a service manual yet. As for taking it to the dealer, only for a major problem that I wouldn't feel comfortable with. I still change oil and tires, I'll continue as long as I feel like doing it. Anyway, the engine is sealed up pretty good so far after 200 miles, other than this bolt.

Take it back and have them fix it. All HD's are prone to being a bit leaky. Not to say that ALL HD's leak, but mine did a little. My issue is mostly blow-by. I had my mechanic re-route the hose. It was hard for me to accept that whenI got mine. I came from metrics that never leaked unless something was seriously wrong. It's just part of owning a Harley.
